Impetus
The CAF needed to fill 23 critical and highly specialized career areas, a challenge that required moving beyond traditional recruitment methods. We saw an opportunity to not just tell, but show what a career in the Forces entails. The goal was to create an operation that was both meticulously accurate and genuinely exciting, allowing any Canadian to see themselves in uniform and feel the pride of service. It was fitting to use AR technology to bridge the gap between civilian life and a day in the CAF.

Behind the Scenes
The platform was built with Unreal Engine and web-based augmented reality, ensuring maximum reach with no app download required. Authenticity was paramount. Each of the 23 career modules was developed in close collaboration with CAF subject matter experts to guarantee content accuracy, from equipment function to operational procedure. We combined compelling storytelling with interactive 3D models, allowing users to project vehicles, equipment, and scenarios directly into their own environment. The user interface was designed for effortless navigation, encouraging exploration across the breadth of career opportunities.
